A new and nimble extension of Bow Market, Beyond Bow is a boutique consulting firm that provides strategy, planning, and execution expertise for similarly-spirited cultural infrastructure projects. We partner with leaders in state and municipal agencies, economic development groups, arts and cultural institutions, and real estate owners and developers to shape regenerative and profitable frameworks for cultural and economic activity.

As traditional “highest and best use” programs sit vacant and pandemics of loneliness and “futurelessness” spread, we offer practical and proven alternatives for communities desiring a resilient and inspiring future.

  • We say it over and over: small is beautiful. We believe right-sized, intentional interventions can unlock outsized impact. This is as true for an adaptive reuse project as it is for a food and beverage program. Our approach blends a clear point of view with constant iteration. Sometimes this means receiving a directive from a client and leading end-to-end: from concept through execution to handoff. Other times, we are embedded within a team —partnering directly with a decision-maker, offering clear, experience-backed guidance to problem solve in real time. In both cases, we stay focused on what works: project-specific strategies that build momentum, prove value, and shape places over time.

  • Our first project started with an abandoned building. We bush whacked our way through miles of red tape and myriad other restraints to create an award-winning, beloved community destination that is routinely upheld as a model for economic development. Needless to say, we are comfortable in complexity—multiple stakeholders, evolving constraints, ambitious objectives —and know how to find traction within it. From financing and permitting, to tenanting, design, operations, and brand, we think in interconnected systems, not silos.
