Southern Pines Diner Car is the exploration of southern food ways and traditions presented in the form of sandwiches. “While I grew up in dorchester, my family comes from various places in the south and I’ve always been drawn to the food from those areas in particular the food of the Appalachian low country” - Matthew Bullock
The mission of Southern Pines is to introduce the culinary heritage of the South in an elevated way. Coming from the shores of West Africa, this cuisine first took roots in the Sea Islands, influencing Southern cooking profoundly, eventually spreading all the way to Philadelphia, where Hemings and Hercules gained fame as Chefs to the President.
Chef Matthew Bullock is proud to continue the evolution of this culinary art at Bow Market.
