Assistant Venue Manager

Upstairs at Bow, Bow Market’s event space, and Nook, Bow Market’s adjoining cocktail bar,  are looking to expand their teams. Nook & Upstairs provide event, hospitality, and drink service to both spaces as well as the Bow Market courtyard.

This role will report primarily to the Events Director of Upstairs at Bow, as well as taking direction from the General Manager of Nook. This individual will work in conjunction with the Assistant Manager of Nook and Assistant Event Managers at Upstairs at Bow. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to get experience in hospitality management, front of house service, and sales.

This position will oversee day-to-day execution and management of events at Upstairs at Bow. In addition to ensuring the space is event-ready (clean, supplies stocked, equipment working), this position will handle communication with confirmed guests and vendors. This position will not independently confirm any bookings, vendors, or marketing of the space.

As part of the management team, you will be cross-trained on drink service and hosting. This role will likely act as a host to both spaces 2-4 days a month. Additionally, this role will jump in busy moments to act as a server: delivering drinks, taking orders, and handling payments. You will also assist bartending staff by restocking supply areas, cleaning off bar surfaces and tables, and answering customer questions.

The right candidate is flexible, upbeat, sales orientated, kind, and most importantly a team player. We expect all employees to treat each other with respect. We host a wide range of events from casual to formal; employees are expected to dress appropriately for the day's tasks, events, and meetings. This is an inclusive workplace where discrimination based on age, sex, religion, and gender is not tolerated.
