After years working in tech, Marcy made the leap to pursue what she'd always quietly dreamed of: a creative life. She began making pottery full time under her ceramics brand, Goldie Ceramics, and realized that creativity isn't a trait you're born with — it's something you build, every time you show up and make something.
Through Goldie Ceramics, Marcy found herself meeting a community of local artists who shared that same spirit. She wanted a place to gather them and find new members — a shop that felt like your most creative friend's house, where you might find a handmade bowl, a set of quality brushes, a candle made down the street, and the inspiration to go home and make something yourself. That's how The Bright Spot was born.
Tucked into the sunny second floor of Bow Market, The Bright Spot carries handmade goods from local artists, small businesses, and US-based makers. Everything is sourced or made by Marcy with care, intention, and a deep belief in the joy of making. The name says it all: a nod to the light that pours into the shop and to the belief that the time you spend creating is always the bright spot of your day.
