Aymar Castle has endured a six-month siege with dwindling supplies and little hope of rescue until mysterious divine figures, the Constant Lady and her Saints, arrive, providing relief and indulgent feasts that captivate the inhabitants. As the war hero Ser Voyne pledges her loyalty to these new deities, Phosyne, a paranoid nun-turned-sorceress, seeks to uncover the truth behind their arrival. At the same time, Treila, a serving girl, grapples with her desire for vengeance against Voyne and her plight to escape the chaos. As the castle succumbs to hedonistic madness, only these three women remain aware of the true peril, and their complex relationships and shifting allegiances lead to escalating violence. To save themselves and the castle, they must redefine their identities and confront the darkness within and around them.
